Digital Citizenship
Digital Footprint
The internet is a great way to learn new things and connect with people but did you know all your activities on the internet is saved? No well, you leave a trail everywhere you go. Always think about what you search up because people can track you. Most of the websites you visit will make note of your visit and every time after that.
Digital Relationships
Chatting online is fantastic and an awesome way to keep up
to date with your friends although there are a lot of dangers that come along
with it. You can get nasty messages and you never really know who you are
talking to. When you’re chatting it is
safe to say some of say things that we say we won’t really say when face to
face. When you’re talking to someone never give important details that can determine
where you live. Never meet sometime you met on the internet in real life, IT IS
DANGEROUS.

Had a great day out and took some pictures with
your friends and you want to share them? So you post it but have you asked for
friend’s permission? Putting up a picture of you and friends without asking is
wrong because you may want to post it but they might not want everyone to see
it. In the end it does have them in the photo some it might make them
uncomfortable if they see a picture of them online and they didn’t even post
it. Also without asking their permission you can break friendships.
-
Sharing Photos is fine but when you start to
post inappropriate pictures you create unwanted attention. For example:
cyber-bullying, verbal bullying etc.
-
Embarrassing photos can ruin people’s
reputations. Say you finally get out of school and you are trying to get a job.
The company you apply do a background check on you and they come across
disturbing picture of you. Now they have the impression that you are not
serious and childish but even though you aren’t. Therefore you don’t get the
job.
Posting
-
1 silly photo online can lead to the whole school knowing about it.
Embarrassing right? That’s why you have to be careful of what you post online.
-
When you post a picture it stays there forever even if you delete it. How?
Well people can screen shot your photo before you have taken it down and they
can spread it around via instant message.
Privacy
Nowadays it is
easier to send messages, photos and videos but sometimes these blogs and social
networking sites can turn into places you really don’t want to be in. That’s
why knowing how to manage your privacy is important.
Emails It is important not to give your email out to people you don’t know. If you do the emails that the send you might contain scams and viruses. - Never open emails from organistation you don’t know, just delete or report them
Passwords
You need to keep your passwords safe because many people can
hack your accounts and put posts up that is rude and mean. You should never
share your passwords with your friends because when you have a fight they can
just log on your account and get there revenge on you.
Once you post something you lose control of who sees it.
